The District of Columbia has for many years been a leader in the implementation of school behavioral health system. Now, more than ever, it is important that this commitment become well known and accessible to families and students enrolled in DC public and public charter schools. The School Behavioral Health Coordinating Council is committed to providing information to DC families to learn more about school behavioral health expansion and tips on how to get more involved at the school-level.

The School Behavioral Health Best Practice Guide provides a compendium of evidence-based and best practices in school behavioral health. This guide serves as both a resource and a continuous quality improvement tool for school leaders and school teams interested in advancing the use of best practice standards. The goal of the School Behavioral Health Best Practice Guide is to support the implementation of a comprehensive school-based behavioral health system.
